Tatton Park

Travelling back from Wales we took advantage of a clear, late autumn afternoon to squeeze in a quick visit to the gardens at Tatton Park, Cheshire. Huge kitchen garden and a vast orchard with examples of different espalier techniques. Edwardian owners created their very own Japanese garden with all the requisite elements – water, stones, bird life (statues), pathways, maples, shinto shrine….
