Mothers are figuring large in our consciousness at the moment. Mine has magnanimously agreed to allow Dee over her threshold and to eat at her table on Sunday evening along with the rest of the family. That will be 13 at the table but we do not hold with that contradictory superstitious Christian stuff even if they do. Horis is not (behaving) at all well at the moment and is a bit of a worry. I think we should take to the hills…

I’m not sure about taking to the hills – feels a bit like running away. If we’re as smart as we like to think then I’m sure between us we can shine on Sunday and win through with H.

We take to the hills not to run away, but to gain perspective on the big and small things in life, to breathe the air, smell the land and the sea, and for the sheer physical achievement of being as high as we can be. Hope the sun shines on us too.
