Top of the View

DSCF1049.JPG This morning we climbed to the top of Allermuir Hill, the focal point of our living room view. Only 1619 feet high but all achievements are relative and I was very pleased to make it to the top and back down again, feeling stronger and more like myself with every step. The wind was exhilarating to the point of almost blowing us off our feet (the tail-end of Hurricane Katya is apparently fast approaching southern Scotland as I write), and the southern Pentland ridge emerging tantalising as we climbed promises much exciting walking to come.

DSCF1636.JPG We’ve had a few good walks this week, including on Blackford Hill (fabulous views of the Edinburgh skyline, the Firth of Forth and the Fife coast) and along the coast at Prestonpans. Pictures here. Fresh air, exercise and a wider perspective on life, all doing a power of good 🙂DSCF1632.JPG
